James Peter Henry

“I look at my art as a way to evoke curiosity for the viewer and myself. Everyone who looks at a piece will see a different part of their own existence.” These are the words of James Peter Henry, an adventurous and unabashed Australian painter who exercises influences of both cubism and African art in his work. Other worldly overtones sneak their way into Henry’s intense and stylized subjects, which shine through the filter of his mind and appear at once human and completely foreign. “My work consists of manipulation of sorts. I paint not what I see, but what I feel”. Having lived in many corners of the globe, it makes sense that his work is a star feature in galleries all over the world. Peris Contemporary is proud to represent James Peter Henry, who provides our collectors with striking pieces that only grow more intriguing with time."
